As Insider previously reported, the "Havana" singer and Mendes were romantically linked in 2015, but they did not announce they were officially together until July 2019.
According to Seventeen, he told Radio.com in 2020 that the lyrics of "Wonder that the lyrics of "Wonder" were inspired by his relationship with Cabello and realizations he had about himself while they've been together.
